There are many dive operators on Rarotonga who cater for all levels of experience from beginners to dive masters. A wonderful way to explore the abundant marine life our tropical reef has to offer. We can book a dive for you during your stay.
Boogie boarding
Whether you like boogie boarding, kite boarding or stand up paddle boarding day & nights, it is all available on Rarotonga. Numerous companies cater from beginners courses to the professional. What are you waiting for? We can book these for you during your stay.
Island Nights
An Island Night is a must do when holidaying in Rarotonga. The best two are Highland Paradise, set on a marae on the side of Mt. Raemaru and Te Vara Nui, set over water in Muri. You will not only be entertained but you will learn a bunch about Cook Islands culture, traditions, legends and more. We can book this for you during your stay. You will not be disappointed.
Buggy tours
Drive your own 4 x 4 beach buggy. Guided buggy tours are available for an adventure drive into the hinterland of Rarotonga. You must be 18 and over and have a car license. Buggy’s seat a driver plus one passenger if you want to share. Not weather dependent as they say the wetter and muddier the better. We can book this for you during your stay.
Traditional Polynesian massage
During your tropical holiday why not make a day to pamper your body with a traditional Polynesian massage? There are various forms available on the island from traditional deep tissue – gentle relaxing – romantic couples massage. Whatever you desire is available. We can book this for you during your stay.
Deep water fishing
If you’re into deep water game fishing then Rarotonga is the place to be. A great day out on the briny and catch your dinner at the same time. There are many game fishing operators who offer public group fishing trips and private charters. You won’t get to keep your catch but everyone on the boat goes home with a couple of meals for the BBQ. And that’s a good thing as we wouldn’t want you coming back to your room with a 150kg marlin asking “what do I do with this?!” All tours are weather permitting. We can book these for you during your stay.
Surfing
Rarotonga is not a great surfing destination. While there are plenty of good size waves to be seen all around the island, places to surf are limited as mostly the waves break onto the reef. But there are a few surf able spots where the locals get out and ride when they can.
Ocean Cruises
Rarotonga is surrounded by water so a day out on the deep blue sea would seem appropriate for a tropical island holiday. These vary from public groups to private charters, high or slow speed, day time or sunset, game fishing and the list goes on. My pick would be Blue Water Tours on their 50ft Catamaran. All tours are weather permitting. We can book these for you during your stay.
Scenic flights
Get a bird’s eye view of the island. Air Rarotonga offer a half hour scenic flight over Rarotonga in their Cessna aircraft. Minimum two passengers. We can book this for you when you are here.
Shopping at the local markets
The big market day is on Saturday morning at the Punanga Nui Market in town. Just about everyone goes there for fresh fruit and veggies, fresh caught fish, arts and crafts, all sorts of cooked foods and much much more. Enjoy island music, drumming and song. You can even get a Polynesian tattoo if want one.
